New Members Wanted...

Ashtead Chess Club is seeking new members. Players would have the opportunity of playing for one of our inter county teams suitable for all standards of play.

We also run a friendly club tournament open to all with trophies for the “top player” under the rules, player of “most games”, player with “most wins” and “best junior”.

If you would like to come along, any Tuesday to see what we are like, you are most welcome. You would not need to pay the subscription unless you decided to join us or to play for one of our teams.

Children from the age of 6 receive coaching and playing instruction from Ashtead club member Mike Bolan, a very experienced coach. A number of Ashtead juniors have represented Surrey and England over recent years most notable being David Howell who is the new British Champion. Kate Shepherd was playing for England in the European junior championships in Italy. The junior club stats at 6.15 until 7.30 on Tuesday evenings at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead. For more information contact Richard Jones 01372 813487
