Ashtead Chess Club has a thriving junior section which meets on a Tuesday evening from 6:15
pm until 7:30 pm. at the Peace Memorial Hall, Ralli Room, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, KT21
2BE
Children play friendly games and then have a short lesson on a topic of interest. Following that,
we organise a tournament (lasting for about 9 weeks) and prizes can be won. There are three such
tournaments organised each year. We meet every week from 3rd week in September until the end
of May so please put us in your diary for September, 2014.
Children are welcome to come along and see if they like us for a couple of weeks before
committing to joining.
The Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge.
We will sign the club up for the Chess Challenge again next year, starting in January, 2015 and
children from aged 5 to 18 are welcome to enter. If you are not already a member of the Junior Club and would
like to sign up for the Challenge this year or if you would like to join us. All are welcome, you
just need to know the moves of chess.
